Fill Words and Vines is an experimental video design project that explores the phenomenal connection between language and natural forms. The material of the work is derived from a real-life dialogue. The typography of the text reveals the relationship between complete sentences and branching filler words, and the form of vines is used as a metaphor for nature, presenting the growth and extension of language in expression. In the moving image, the form and arrangement of the text not only reveal the inner structure of language, but also capture the subtle changes in tone of voice and rhythm of speech. The form of the vines
is simulated by the typography, and random values are used to create an organic and dynamic visual representation. The symbiotic
rhythm between language and nature
is established through growth and extension, evoking a new understanding of language as a ‘living organism’.
